Things are definitely going MUCH more smoothly these days with his new companion. They are both hard workers and interested in finding as many people to teach as they possibly can! He said it really doesn't feel like he's going home. That's a good sign. :)
Here are some excerpts from today's email:
"We found some new people this week! The few people/investigators we have had are still going strong too. Doris is still in Santiago.....DUMB DOCTORS! They are taking forever and keep postponing her exams and tests."
"Today is the Chile vs Mexico game so like.... we get to WATCH IT!!! Super fun! We are watching with Lorenzo (recent convert) and Esperanza. (She’s an investigator) We are also going to bring Estevan. He’s a Dominican Republican who wants to get baptized. YES! "
"So there was this guy the other day…., it was pretty funny. We were looking for someone and he didn’t live there, so we asked if we could share something with him. And he was like "I’m atheist." (Thinking it was the best excuse) So we were like, “well we can still talk?” Then he kept throwing random excuses at us. It was pretty funny because none of them were legit excuses for us to not go in..."
"Then a similar
thing happened with some lady who was yelling at us. She said the Book of Mormon was of the devil
and all sorts of stuff like that.
So we talked to her, calmed her
down a little bit, and then I started to talk about the book of Mormon again. She had NO idea what it was about, so I
explained to her in detail what it was about and slowly but surely, she started
to ask questions and stuff. I even got her to hold the book, (because she
strongly refused in the beginning) We got her to take it home and read it. (Without any commitments, but It’s a start?) Hopefully
she didn’t throw it away! We already burned one BOM this week because it was soaked in poison from the
bug spray guy."
He found some Nutella. He's pretty stoked about it!
"Here I am in a Llama wonderland..."
Elder Hinton from Az! (One of the Elders he lives with)
Elder Mendez got a hold of his camera. (This gem is one of MANY) :)
