Another tough week, a burned car and a package from Chile!!!

I think Pierce is still adjusting to his new comp.  They get along great, but their missionary "approach" seems to be a little different.  (That's just my observation, not his)  Hopefully they BOTH will learn from each other.  While I was emailing him back and forth..., the mailman came to the door with a package.  It was from him, all the way from CHILE!!  I was shocked to say the least and cried like a baby before I even opened it!  Is that even normal??  I was touched to say the least.

Here are some excerpts from his email today:  His Spanish must be getting good, since his phrasing seems off.   He didn't take any pictures this week!!  :(

"This past week, we almost lost Bastian.   (Their investigator)  I still don't really know, maybe we did.  The thing to know about Argentinians (his new comp is from Argentina) is that they talk very well with people, sort of manipulative in a way.  They also want to get things done!   My new comp knew the situation with Bastian. (he wants to go at his own pace) He's been progressing well that way. We talked about goals this week, and he told us that the family Salas, (the family that his girlfriend is from) told him to NOT set goals, because that's when Satan works on you the most.   Probably, the worst advice ever given!  He wants to get married, but he refuses to set a date.  (Because of the great advice he received) same with baptism.   My Comp is all about "The Fecha," or the date to get baptized. He really wants to baptize, whereas I really want to make sure there is a true conversion there.  It shouldn't be pulling teeth  to make them do the bare minimum to get them in the water.  It'd be cool to help someone change, but they should at least want to.  Anyways, my Comp tried to set a date, and Bastian was…, well not happy at all.  It all ended on a bad note basically. So I don't know what's happening now."

"Niko burned a car the other day.  Don't really know how.  I guess he was playing with a lighter and he got burned and threw it.  It hit some parked car that had gas or something on it.   Basically the car went up in flames.  He said he feels bad, poor kid, but it's a funny story to say the least."

"Oh tell the boys, one of my regrets now is never learning the piano!  The people really like it, but nobody can play it."

Package from Chile!!!  Such a SWEET surprise!!  Love that boy.

Something for everyone!
